Si tratta di automobili che per muoversi non utilizzano la benzina ma l’elettricità, accumulata in alcune batterie attraverso un’apposita ricarica. Ovviamente, grazie a questa tipologia di mezzi di trasporto è possibile salvaguardare l’ambiente inquinando di meno, oltre che risparmiare sui costi del carburante.

Share Now è il gruppo leader mondiale nel settore del car sharing, nato grazie alla fusione di DriveNow e Car2Go. Qualche giorno fa, la società ha annunciato che, entro il 2020, un’auto su quattro della sua flotta sarà finalmente alimentata da una batteria, con un incremento di veicoli a emissioni zero. Nel 2018 i clienti di Car2Go e DriveNow hanno percorso 29 milioni di chilometri con le auto a zero emissioni, per un totale di 12 mila noleggi al giorno e 121 milioni di chilometri percorsi a batteria.
“Crediamo che la mobilità e il car sharing elettrici siano alcuni dei più grandi temi del futuro e, per questo, sono elementi per noi di cruciale importanza strategica. Siamo già leader nel settore del car sharing elettrico e ci consideriamo dei veri e propri pionieri in questo campo”: queste le parole di Olivier Reppert, Ceo di Share Now.
Al momento, un quinto delle auto di Share Now sono ad emissione zero e, entro la fine dell’estate, saranno introdotte circa 800 nuove Smart EQ, alcune delle quali arriveranno anche a Milano. In Europa, infatti, per ora sono solo quattro le città in cui il servizio opera con le 2.100 smart elettriche così distribuite: 850 veicoli a Madrid, 350 ad Amsterdam, 500 a Stoccarda e 400 a Parigi. Nelle altre dodici città, invece, le auto sono miste; si tratta di: Amburgo, Berlino, Bruxelles, Colonia, Düsseldorf, Monaco, Helsinki, Copenaghen, Lisbona, Londra e Vienna e Milano, dove operano le BMW i3.
